Respiratory and PD Hospital Executive
“I account manage 13 hospital trusts, which means
I deal with 22 hospitals in total. My main role is to market and promote
our respiratory and Parkinson’s Disease products. I've also helped
to launch a new product and the main priority has been looking at maximising
the use of our portfolio within the hospitals.
My role involves developing a rapport with the
key healthcare professionals who become advocates of our products and
to create new prescribing opportunities with other healthcare professionals.
I have one to one meetings with them or presentations detailing the
clinical data of our products to groups from 3 to 33+. Sometimes I work
in the evening, to support the speakers that I have sourced for "speaker
meetings".
I have also special project work which I am developing.
This can take the form of an interest group, which is a way for the
healthcare professionals in respiratory/PD to share best practice and
an opportunity for them to have protected time to develop protocols
or for educational needs. The satisfaction for working for Boehringer
is that the company allows you to use your initiative to get business;
it's not a rigid structured approach.
Boehringer is a good company to work for as it
offers support and really encourages personal development. My aim is
to specialise in respiratory medicine, so I recently completed a Diploma,
paid for by Boehringer. There's also an excellent company car system,
so at least when I'm stuck in a traffic jam on the M1, it's more bearable!
I really can't see myself wanting to work for another
pharmaceutical company, as Boehringer is quite special - you're never
a just a territory number, you're always a person.”
