Environmental Care

Through our Environmental Care programme we play a part in securing a sustainable environment for the future. We take every step to protect the environment in which we live and work and have a range of initiatives to help us:

Reduce

We have an active programme to encourage a reduction in the use of resources across the company

But there is much more we can do and we will be working hard to ensure that our site is as environmentally friendly as possible.

We have schemes in place to encourage employees to save certain items for re-use including:

• toner cartridges

• CDs

• mobile phones

• batteries

As mentioned in the section 'Community Partnerships' we also donate unwanted IT equipment and furniture to local charities and schools through Commerce to Community.

Recycle

We recycle a great deal of waste from our factory and the office areas and have built a waste handling centre on site in Bracknell to help us.

We currently recycle:

• paper

• cardboard

• plastic

• fluorescent tubes

• wood

• metal

• electrical equipment

• some hazardous materials and solvents

and are looking to recycle even more waste products in the future.

In the UK this year we were awarded 58th place in the Sunday Times' 100 Best Companies to Work For - this was the highest ranking position of all pharmaceutical companies. We are very proud of this achievement and believe that it demonstrates our commitment to our employees.
