Vetmedica, our animal health division, was founded in 1980 and is now the fastest growing unit in the Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd business. We are responsible for the marketing and sales of innovative animal health products and have a team of highly motivated sales and marketing professionals to do this.

Over the last five years we have doubled our market share and become one of the top 10 vetpharma companies in the UK.

Our strength lies in working with the following animals:

• Companion animals: pets, such as dogs, cats and rabbits

• Horses

• Farm animals: particularly pigs (swine) and cattle

As part of the global Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica business we are committed to the research and development of products. There are already strong products in the pipeline and these will take us into new and expanding areas of animal medicine in the future.

The Vetmedica division is recognised for marketing excellence. In 2004 the Veterinary Marketing Association awarded us six first prize awards:

Our recently expanded 30 strong sales and marketing team consists of highly motivated people, with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience in agriculture, animal science, pharmacology and sales.

All our team members have a large input into what we do. They are encouraged to develop ideas that lead to innovative ways of doing business.

Each person is valued as an individual and contributes to the shared goals of the division.

Everyone is given the chance to build on their existing qualifications, skills and knowledge through further training and development opportunities. We also have close working links with our head office in Germany and with Boehringer Ingelheim in other countries, which allows us to develop integrated sales and marketing campaigns.
