Boehringer Ingelheim Voted Great Place to Work for Fourth Year Running

3 March 2005Bracknell based pharmaceutical company, Boehringer Ingelheim, has done it again. For the fourth consecutive year the company has been named one of the UK’s 100 best companies to work for, according to the Sunday Times’ annual survey.

The Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For 2005 competition identifies the best employers in the country from the views of employees and the policies and processes of employers.   It identifies best practice and ranks companies according to employee satisfaction.

Uwe Weiler, Managing Director of Boehringer Ingelheim UK said today:

‘We are very proud of this award and delighted that our employees continue to find their working environment so enjoyable and stimulating. The fact that they have recognised our commitment to them for the fourth year running is what makes this award particularly rewarding. We take the views of our employees very seriously and to be listed in the best 100 companies once again is testament to our continued hard work in this area.”

Despite its continued success, complacency is not in Boehringer Ingelheim’s nature. The company regularly surveys its employees to identify what it can do to improve their working environment.  In response to previous employee demands, the company has launched a programme called Community Spirit, whereby individuals are given leave to get more involved in local communities and charity work; installed a tranquil well being room for employees to relax; and extended the coffee area to provide a more informal environment for internal meetings.
