Vetmedica, the animal health division of Boehringer Ingelheim was founded in the 1950s, and established a UK presence in 1980, initially focussing on equine respiratory disease. Since that time, Vetmedica has expanded to be the 8th largest veterinary pharmaceutical company in the UK, is also one of the fastest growing (with average annual turnover growth of 16% per year since 1999. Vetmedica is also the fastest growing division in the Boehringer UK business.

Vetmedica promotes a wide range of both therapeutic and preventative products, dealing with both companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits and horses) and farm animals. All Vetmedica products are sold through veterinary surgeons in the UK. We currently have no direct consumer healthcare presence.
